The mid-island resort has an intentionally rustic theme and this property very much caters to kids. The rooms, grounds & location clearly accommodate a family crowd.
The rooms are spacious, clean and have kitchens and balconies. “South Carolina Lowcountry” is the theme & style of Disney’s Hilton Head Island resort. The grounds are well-kept and modern, with amenities that include hammocks and grills.
Disney Hilton Head is top-heavy with activities for children, including nature programs, campfires, magic shows, “Kids Night Out”, crabbing, art, swimming pool & pool games, biking, kayaking, tennis and more things to do.
The Disney Hilton Head resort is on Hilton Head’s Broad Creek, which is technically a land locked tidal marsh. A shuttle bus transports guests to the Disney Beach House in Palmetto Dunes, which is about a mile-and-a-half away. There guests enjoy a private swimming pool with bathrooms and a snack shop right on the Atlantic Ocean.
Tide Me Over is a quick service restaurant located at the Broad Creek Mercantile near the main resort pool. It is open for breakfast, lunch and early dinner, serving a variety of quick snacks and lite fare. Menu items include salads, sandwiches, burgers and such. Beverages and mixed drinks are also served.
Picnic tables and counter stools overlooking the marsh are available, and orders can also be prepared “to go.”
Signals is located at the Beach House and, like Tide Me Over, serves quick-service selections. The menu again includes salads, burgers, hot dogs and chicken tenders.
Tables are available in the air conditioned dining room and items can also be taken poolside.
Main Pool The resort’s feature pools–the Big Dipper and the Little Dipper–are located on the within the main resort complex on Longview Island. The Big Dipper is for adults and experienced swimmers, and features a watertower-themed waterslide. The Little Dipper is nearby for the younger crowd.
Towels are provided. Lounge chairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Life jackets may be borrowed (free) from nearby Broad Creek Mercantile.
Disney’s Beach House The main resort and guest rooms is located on Longview Island, a couple miles away from the beach. But those looking for a beach experience can take advantage of the resort’s second location–Disney’s Beach House. The Beach House is a 3 1/2 acre oecanfront complex where resort guests can enjoy a 12 mile wide stretch of private beach property.
In addition to the beach, Disney’s Beach House is home to another resort pool, Signals snack bar and the Surfman’s Sand Bar which serves refreshing libations throughout the day.
